International Relations Project

Through the World Link Program,
a Kiwanis club can help build a new club in a new Kiwanis
area by supplying a set of charter gifts. These include
a gong and gavel, club banner, and nations flag set
(or charter fee, if applicable) - all for only US$350.
Co-sponsorships also are possible if two clubs contribute
$175 each. This project can be funded from the sponsor's
service account.
The International Office will provide the sponsoring
club with a contact in the new club. Then, the sponsoring
club corresponds with the new club to determine the
kind of support that is needed and to give advice about
service projects, membership growth, and administration.
Many clubs that have been involved in such sponsoring
relationships have been corresponding for more than
20 years, and exchange visits occur regularly.
World Link sponsors will receive a handsome six-inch
World Link banner patch.

Where to Build

A club's home community may have a "sister city"
relationship with a distant town that needs a Kiwanis
club. If not, a club may wish to direct its assistance
to a particular nation or region. World Link sponsorships
can be applied in any nation authorized by the Kiwanis
International Board of Trustees. However, no new-club
building may occur in a nation until so authorized.
A list of countries currently targeting for World Link
sponsors is listed below. Many other national also are
authorized. For further information, contact the Kiwanis
International Office, 317-875-8755, ext. 161.
