District/Regional Projects

  Kiwanis Clubs in the Asia-Pacific region have inherited the tradition of altruism and have demonstrated it to improve life within local communities and the world.  
  Australia:

East Timor project

 
  Herd Number 2 has arrived in Timor in July 2004. When the herd settles in, 5,000 children a day will be receiving fresh milk.  

 

 

India:

Artificial limb center
 
  Kiwanis Artificial Limb Centre in South Delhi has given a fresh lease of life to more than 100 patients in just one year of its inception.  

 

  Indonesia:

Orphanage project
 
  Opened in July, 2004, the Kiwanis orphanage house has sheltered 60 children. Later on when the whole building is finished in 2007, the orphanage will be a home and a school for around 280 children.

  Japan:    Kiwanis doll project  

 

  Korea:

Building a Kiwanis spring and caring for disabled children
 
  A Kiwanis water spring is built for trekkers along mountains, and resources are given to disabled children.  

 

  Malaysia:

Kiwanis Down Syndrome Centers

  New Zealand-South Pacific:

The burns center at the Kidz First Hospital
 
 
  Kidz First Hospital Burns Unit in South Auckland. This is the main burns unit for treatment of serious burns for the whole of New Zealand and the South Pacific region, including New Caledonia and French Polynesia.  

 

  Taiwan:  
  Holding children's talent show, sponsoring impoverished children in the Philippines and Guatemala, and hosting annual award ceremonies to recognize the top 10 outstanding agricultural specialists and children's websites.  

 

  Philippines-Luzon:
 

Conducting free clinics and adopting a school
 
 
 
Conducting free clinics and providing a daily lunch for a remote school keep malnutrition problems away from children.
 

 

  Philippine South:
 

Offering for Street Children and dancing class
 
  Visiting the vending children on the street and offering some food create happiness in their hearts, while dancing class provides an opportunity for teenagers to fulfill themselves.  

 

  Sri Lanka:

Dental Lab at Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital
 
 
  Through a fund-raising celebration, a nearly empty orthodontic and dental clinic is filled up with adequate facilities to treat children with cleft palates and lips.
